Robert Ashby David

Robert "Bob" A. David, of Jersey Village, Texas passed away Sunday evening August 11, 2019.
Bob was born in Victoria, Texas on November 2, 1942 to Julien J. David and Hazel Broussard David of Lafayette, Louisiana. He grew up in Victoria, attended St. Joseph High School, and graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston in 1960 after his family moved there.
In 1967 Bob met and married the love of his life, Helen Pargac David, in their hometown of Victoria, TX. They moved to Louisiana where he was working at the time. After earning his degree in Microbiology at USL in Lafayette, Bob and Helen moved to Houston, where he went to work for NASA in the Lunar Receiving Lab during the later years of the Apollo missions.
A man of many talents, Bob later worked in newspaper circulation and took classes in computer science, landing a job in computer security and information technology in the oil industry, where he worked for 25 years. Bob and Helen enjoyed traveling, took up snorkeling in the Caribbean, and after retiring, experienced the fun and rewards of touring in Europe, making many friends along the way.
Involved in his community, Bob was known for his generosity, dependability, and integrity. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. His warmhearted devotion to his family and friends was incomparable. He was always available to help a friend or neighbor who needed his expertise.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by Helen, his loving wife of 51 years, son Keith and his wife Melissa, granddaughter Samantha, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
We will celebrate his life on Thursday, September 5, with visitation 5 to 8 pm at Klein Funeral Home CyFair – Northwest, 9717 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065, and Funeral Mass on Friday, September 6 at 11 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Community, 10135 West Rd., Houston, TX 77064.
Burial will follow Funeral Mass at 2:00pm, Friday, September 6, 2019 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in his memory.
