Robert Caldwell was born on February 8, 1991, to Benjamin Caldwell and Janie Rodriguez in Arlington, Texas. He passed peacefully due to medical complications on January 3rd, 2025, in Austin Texas. Robert spent his early childhood in the DFW metroplex, where he was baptized in the Catholic church. In 1995, he moved to the Cypress Texas area with his parents and his older brother Rick. In 2004, Robert's parents divorced. Both parents remarried shortly thereafter, Janie to Dale Womble, and Benjamin to Maritza Gomez. Robert now had two families to support him as he approached adulthood.
Dale Womble sadly passed away soon after, without having had a chance to develop a lasting relationship with Robert. As part of Benjamin's marriage to Maritza, Robert inherited a loving stepmother and younger brother Renzo, who would become a lifelong friend. Shortly thereafter, Benjamin and Maritza gave Robert two new siblings, Christopher and Alexandra rounding out that part of his family.
During his high school years, Robert was very involved with music. He became an excellent guitarist and played fluent piano. His ear for music was very natural, which would play a significant role in his later career. After graduating from Langham Creek High School in Cypress, Texas, Robert moved to San Marcos and attended Texas State University for a time. He then moved to the Austin area, where he would live out the remainder of his life. Despite a few close calls, Robert never married or had children.
After spending a few years working in customer service and product design at Yeti, Robert struck out on his own to be an independent music producer and videographer. Despite several successful years in this space, Robert ended his career as Creative Director for a family-owned luxury watch company. Robert was only with Investment Watches for a short time, but the job title, position, and responsibility was one of the proudest moments of his life.
While Robert always shared a special bond with his older brother Rick, over the last several years, he became very close with his younger brothers and sister. He frequently visited Cypress and spent hours with his younger siblings, counseling, playing games and watching movies. Robert served as co-best men with his brother Christopher at Renzo's wedding in 2022 and provided a most heartfelt speech. He was always laughing and playing tricks on his brothers and sister. He loved being with his family. Robert and Alexandra developed such a special bond that they spoke on the phone two to three times every day. Other favorite activities were family dinners, basketball and pickleball with his brothers, and visiting Top Golf with the whole family. Robert had a beautiful soul and a huge heart.
Robert has ascended to our heavenly father to be with his great-grandmother Jewel Stubbs, grandmother Niki Caldwell, and grandmother Graciela Rodriguez Valdez.
Left to cherish his memory are grandfather Jack Caldwell, father Benjamin Caldwell, stepmother Maritza Caldwell, brothers Renzo Caldwell and Christopher Caldwell, sister Alexandra Caldwell, Mother Janie Womble, and brother Rick Beltran, along with a multitude of loving uncles, aunts, and cousins.
