Obituary

Robert Henry Byrnes, 93, of Tomball, passed away April 7, 2020.  He was born July 13, 1926, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to the late Allen and Emma Peterson Byrnes.

He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Community.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Helen Byrnes and six children, Patti Myers (Mike) John Byrnes (Laurie), Jim Byrnes (Katie), Sally Clewis (Mark), Kathy McCartha (Rick), and Nancy Graves (Nathan). He also leaves 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who in addition to his six children, were his pride and joy.

Bob and Mary Helen started life together in Milwaukee, WI in 1953, then raised their wonderful family in Erie, PA, until moving to Houston in 1978. Bob proudly served his country in both the Navy and Army prior to college.  Bob had a long and very successful career as a Vice President of Manufacturing and loved to always discuss math, physics, engineering, and any facts he read that day. He was an avid reader, learner of all subjects, and discussed everything from history, to current events, politics, and sports. As a talented golfer, he and Mary Helen enjoyed many years of time on the courses, together and with friends, and never let an opportunity go by to teach a new golfer the tips of the game.

Throughout his experience of health challenges, Mary Helen tirelessly cared for his every need, and their adoring love for each other are a lesson for all. The family would like to say a special thanks to Encompass Home Health and Encompass Hospice for their compassionate care.

Due to the current social distancing circumstances, there will be a family-only visitation on April 15 th with a future Mass, celebration of life, and memorial service, with a date to be determined.
