Obituary

Robert Francis Burns was born December 24, 1936, in Wynnewood Oklahoma to Berthalee Kidd and John Robert Burns.

He served in the Strategic Air Command in the Air Force during the Korean conflict, and then the reserves. He married Janice Kay Smith and had two children, Stephen and Trina.  He worked for the City of Houston and Harris County as a Construction Inspector.  He later worked for Delta Steel and Mission Petroleum as a commercial semi-truck driver. He went on to work for Kone-Landel as a structural fitter. He had many side ventures, including a daycare and rental properties.  When he retired, he embarked on the venture of ownership of Burns RV Park.

He was a devout man, deeply committed to his family.  Janice Kay was the love of his life, and their children, Stephen and Trina, were his pride and joy.  Later, Jackie and Jerrie were welcomed into the family.  He treated them as his own and they have remained close to the family.

He was a man of integrity, faith and trust – a man who valued a handshake, smiled easily and marveled at the joy of his kids and grandkids.  His love for life and family was profound as represented by his being a "second father" to many and a Patriarch to his extended family.

He was loved and will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 64 years of marriage, Janice Kay Burns, brother Ray Dean Brumley, sisters Alice Fae Rohus and Raenell Jacobs.

He is survived by his son, Stephen Robert Burns (wife Michelle) and three daughters, Trina Kay Burns (husband Todd Thomas), Jacqulyn Kennedy and Jerrie Kennedy Salvaggio (husband Brian); sister Marajane Davis, Sister-in-law Kathy Brumley, and Brother-in-law Dale Jacobs; grandchildren Lorin Burns Hernandez (husband Frank), Cameron Salvaggio (wife Mckenzie), Kennedy Stafford Aleman (husband Javier), Ryan Burns, Karsyn Salvaggio Reyes (husband Angel) and Kendall Stafford; great grandchildren Saylor Salvaggio, Liam Hernandez, Lily Hernandez, Sophia Hernandez and many nieces and nephews.
