Robert (Bob) Eugene Briggs III went to his heavenly home on September 13, 2018, at the age of 72. He was surrounded by his loving family at his home in Tomball, Texas.

Robert is survived by his wife, Edna Briggs; son, Robert E. Briggs, IV; daughters, Nicole Regitz and Jennifer Weathers; sisters, Ann Althauser and Roberta Skimin; brother, John Briggs; and 12 grandchildren.

Bob was born on August 2, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to father Robert Eugene Briggs II and mother Jean Briggs. He served in the US Army from 1968-1970 and was honorably awarded the Purple Heart for his service during the Vietnam War. After his term in the army, Bob attended St. Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He established a successful career managing a variety of hotels. Bob was highly respected by his peers and maintained a reputation for being a fair and supportive boss to the individuals who worked for him.

He lived with his family in Cincinnati, Ohio, Oberlin Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where each of his three children were born, respectively. In 1988 Bob and his family moved to Houston, Texas where the family began to lay down roots. In 1993 he suffered a massive stroke that left him paralyzed and unable to speak. Despite his health challenges, Bob endured with grace and humility and found joy in his family. He was present at the graduations and weddings of his children and welcomed each of his grandchildren into the world. Bob was able to share each of these special milestones with his loving wife, Edna, by his side.

Bob had an infectious smile and a memorable laugh. He enjoyed family gatherings and an afternoon cocktail. Bob loved golf, football, The Beatles, and he was not to be bothered during the 5 pm news. He had a curious mind that was intrigued by technology. Bob also had a habit of stopping on road trips to read every historical marker and of touring homes mid-construction in all the surrounding neighborhoods. But, most of all, Bob will be remembered for his playful spirit and joy he found in laughing with his kids and grandkids.

A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 7 P.M at Klein Funeral Home Champions, 16131 Champion Forest Dr. Klein, Texas 77379. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 Tomball Parkway, Houston, TX 77070.

The Committal Service will follow at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038 at 1:15 P.M.
