Obituary

R. Wayne Brashear, was born in Tulsa Ok on March 25. He was born to Orville and Mary Etta Brashear. At a very young age, Wayne went to live with his name sake, Uncle Wayne and Aunt Lucille Brashear who would later adopt him as their son. In 1952 he became an evangelist and preached revivals in the Central United States.

On March 6, 1954 he married Rozella June Thresher, they celebrated 64 years this year. They traveled together preaching and singing for five years. February 1, 1956 their first born daughter, Carol June forever changed their lives. February 1959, brought a big change. Wayne was voted in as pastor of Urban Park Assembly of God and they moved to Dallas TX. He would remain Pastor until he retired August 24, 2014.

Wayne was the longest consecutively serving pastor in the General Council at that time totaling 55 and a half years. August 23, 1960 added another baby girl when Deborah Renee was born. Carol and Deborah would later marry Dennis Eugene Wolfe, Jr and Brady Eugene Brackin respectfully. These two marriages brought the joy of five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; Karl and Cristen Hansen their children Kylie, Avery, Cooper, Addyson and Hunter of Magnolia. Dennis (aka Trey) and Apryl Wolfe, III, their children Trevon, Riley, Brielle and Tripp of The Woodlands, Jason and Lauren Wolfe their children Sloane and Cohen of Spring, David and I, Nikki Demny our son Jonathan of Spring and Joshua and Steffani Brackin, their children Laken and Beau of Baytown.

On June 18, 2018 around 3:00 am Wayne finished his race and heaven rejoiced. He now walks with his son in laws, Dennis Wolfe and Brady Brackin among the Saints and angels. We will miss you but know we will all meet again in paradise.
