Robert Thomas (Bob) Parks entered his eternal rest on January 11, 2025, at his home in Cypress, Texas, surrounded by his family. Bob was just a month shy of his 83rd birthday. Even though his body was failing for years, his mind remained sharp, and his wit was legendary.

Bob was born in Columbia, South Carolina, on February 24, 1942, and was raised in Greenville, South Carolina, by his adopted parents John Lee and Edna Frady Parks. At 17, Bob enlisted in the Army, and met his wife-to-be, Judy Sheehan, while stationed in Cleveland, Ohio. They wed on April 8, 1961, and embarked on an amazing adventure together that spanned more than 63 years and took them from South Carolina to New Jersey and finally "home" to the great state of Texas in 1978. Together Bob and Judy were the proud parents of five children, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Bob was also a beloved father-in-law, a treasured brother-in-law to all of Judy's 10 siblings, and a favorite uncle to more than 30 nieces and nephews. His personality was larger than life, and he was loved by everyone who knew him...young and old alike.

Bob worked hard his entire life and made many friends along the way. He retired in 2004 from Harris County Road and Bridge and spent his early retirement spoiling his grandchildren and playing golf. Bob also had a deep love for sports. He had fond memories of coaching boys and girls basketball in New Jersey. He also played, coached, and umpired baseball most of his life. When he wasn't cheering on his New York Yankees, you could find Bob listening to classic country and gospel music or watching professional wrestling, college football or Nascar. He also loved to travel, work puzzles, and play cards. He was always active in his church community and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for more than 58 years.

Despite being in declining health for years, Bob's spirit continued to draw people into his orbit. He was an "adopted" grandpa for many family friend's children, a beloved neighbor, and special patient to his team of doctors, nurses, medical assistants, and therapists throughout the years. Bob truly never met a stranger. If you met him, you knew him, and if you knew him, you loved him!

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Parks, his lifelong friend, Ray Smith, his daughter-in-law, Ann Parks, his son-in-law, Darryl Tice, his loving in laws, Ed and Rita Sheehan, his brothers-in-law Kevin Sheehan and David Roha, and his sister-in-law, Linda Sheehan. He is survived by his wife, Judith Sheehan Parks, his children, Monte Parks, and wife Pam, Renae Tice, Mindy Coleman and husband Bobby, Lance Parks, and Erin Avera and husband Rob. Also left to continue Bob's legacy are his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Rita Parks, Shane Parks and wife Tawna, Dixie Parks, Josh Tice, Kellum Tice and wife Natalie, Matt Tice and wife Sandra, Russell Coleman, Leighanne Brands and husband Ray, Jarrett Coleman and wife Jessica, Eden Avera, Emery Avera, Eric Rivera, Annjolee Rivera, Elesia Rivera, Amelia Rivera, Chad Parks, Alhy Morales, Isabel Tice, Jacob Tice, Michael Tice, Cannon Parks and Beckett Parks. He is also survived by his two dear Army friends, Terry Sutton and Herbert Grant, his lifelong friends George Grady and Gary Cox and his niece, Linda Green and husband Marshall.

Bob's journey in life is inspirational, his legacy is vast, and his spirit touched so many. We will miss his physical presence immensely, but our hearts are full knowing he is at peace, out of pain, and in the loving arms of our Father!
