Robert Oliver Baker, was born September 12th, 1931 in Wakefield, Massachusetts. He was the youngest of four siblings. Bob married his high-school sweetheart, Claire and they were married for more than 60 years until she passed away three years ago. Bob is survived by his five children; Robert Baker, Jr., William W. Baker, Douglas C. Baker, Debra Stephens, and Pamela Milstead (married to John Kyle Milstead) and six grandchildren, his sister, Phyllis Schelske of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Wakefield High School and Northeastern University in Boston. He proudly served two years in the US Army with the Corps of Engineers in Germany. He worked as a certified professional Civil Engineer for Shell Oil Company for over 33 years. He was re-located several times during his career, moving our family from Massachusetts, to Maine, to Connecticut, to Iowa, to Illinois, and finally to Texas.

Bob was a sports enthusiast! Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins were his favorite teams, but no one was more excited than my dad when the Houston Astros won the World Series last year. He didn't just watch sports, he played them too! He played football and hockey in school, playing on the only undefeated Northeastern football squad. He played a lot of tennis and enjoyed snow skiing whenever he could schedule a vacation trip.

After retirement, he continued to travel and learned to play golf. He served as a Marshall at several Shell Houston Open Tournaments.

He was an active member of Klein United Methodist Church, as a member of the Wesley Sunday School class, and the Men's group. He also volunteered on several mission projects.
