Robbie Gene Westbrook, 86, of Spring, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. Robbie was born on November 8, 1936 in Crisp, Texas, to Riley Valentine Westbrook and Winnie Lee Westbrook Weaver. Those left to cherish Robbie's memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Lois; children, Michael Westbrook (Melba), Mark Westbrook (Laura), Teresa Bratcher (Tom), Mary Rump (Bill) and Laura Evans (Gerald); brother, Harold Westbrook; sisters, Doris Adamcik and Glenda Moore; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Robbie is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Copia Westbrook; grandson, Thomas Bratcher; brothers, Hesser Westbrook and Billy Westbrook; sister, Neta Royder; parents-in-law, Andrew and Genevieve Cancienne; brothers-in-law, Merrill Adamcik, Steve Moore and Don Baucum; sisters-in-law, Joyce Westbrook, Jean Westbrook, Anne Baucum and Nita Westbrook; nephews, Stephen Westbrook, Gene Westbrook and Marvin Westbrook; and nieces, Donna Crochet, Brenda Ewing and Melinda Schipske.

Robbie attended Aldine ISD schools in Houston, TX before joining the Navy, where he served as a cook and developed a passion for cooking delicious food to share with family and friends. He attended basic training in San Diego, CA and was then stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After discharge from the Navy, he moved to be with family and work in the grain industry in Port Allen, LA, where he met the love of his life, Lois Cancienne. Robbie and Lois were married on December 20, 1958 and soon welcomed their five children into their loving household. They raised their family in Port Allen, LA; Beaumont, Hereford and Spring, TX before moving to Blessing, TX as they neared their retirement years.

Over his career, Robbie worked in the grain industry; attended the Dairy Queen University and became a Dairy Queen store manager; and, he worked as a commercial construction electrician in downtown Houston on high rise office buildings and later at the South Texas Nuclear Project in Bay City, Texas. He retired as a Journeyman electrician and member of IBEW 716. He also retired from Houston Lighting and Power Company.

Robbie was always interested in trying his hand at new hobbies, like cooking, raising chinchillas, pig farming, hydroponics and gardening, stained glass, upholstery, cabinet construction, beekeeping, establishing and farming a pecan orchard, and he even traded stocks during retirement. Robbie was a devoted member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and St. Edward Catholic Church. Robbie and Lois were also founding members of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in North Houston. Robbie was a fourth-degree Knights of Columbus member, as well as a member of St. Edward's Senior Saints and the American Legion.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church at 2601 Spring Stuebner Rd, Spring, TX 77389 on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral mass to begin at 10:30 a.m. A reception for family and friends will be held in the parish hall following the service. Burial with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. at Klein Memorial Park at 9714 FM 2920, Tomball, TX 77375.
