On September 1, 2023, Rob Gorden Croix, 76, of Tomball, TX, passed away peacefully at his home with his beloved wife, Glynda by his side as she was for the last five decades.
Rob Gorden Croix was born on June 28, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Edward and Atha Croix.
Named "Robin" by his parents at birth, Rob, was quick to remind you that he didn't like that name, and he wanted to be remembered as Rob.
Rob grew up on the south side of Houston, graduating from Jones High School in 1965.
Rob attended Ranger College in north Texas before he enlisted to serve our country in the United States Navy.
Rob served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the United States Navy. He was assigned to the Navy Seabees where he provided construction support for military operations.
Rob was so proud to serve his country, including the time during his second tour when he was assigned to teach English to a group of Nuns. Many years later, his daughters discovered a letter from the nuns written to Rob's family. The words illustrate Rob's selfless devotion to helping others.
After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, Rob came home to Houston and planted roots in Tomball, and started his own general contracting business, Rob Croix Construction, Inc. which he worked tirelessly for over the next 40 years.
After he retired, Rob spent every last second he could with his grandchildren, including hunting and fishing trips where he was with his grandson Levi when he got his first deer.
Rob was so proud of his grandkids, and his two daughters.
Rob was predeceased by his parents, Eddie and Atha Croix.
Rob is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Glynda Croix, and his daughters, who thought the world of their Daddy, Vanessa Croix and Melanie Croix Carl.
Also left behind to carry on Rob's legacy are his devoted grandchildren, Brynn, Ansley, and Levi Carl, and their father, Rob's fishing and hunting buddy, his son-in-law, Bob Carl.
Rob is also survived by his best friends and brothers, Rick Croix and Randy Croix.
