Richard Charles Winterhoff, 89, of Houston, passed away July 22, 2017.  He was born December 15, 1927, in Chicago, IL to the late Ernest O. Winterhoff and Florence Nelson Winterhoff.

Richard was a Graduate of Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then a 30 plus year career with Shell Oil Company.  His favorite pastime was his family, he was always involved with his children's and grandchildren's  activities.  He was a loving, kind and generous husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl L. Turley and husband Steve, Karen A. Phillips and husband Cal and Dana R. Winterhoff; grandchildren, Stephen Turley Jr. and wife Amy, Christopher Turley and wife Victoria, Calvin Phillips, III, and Stuart Phillips; great grandchildren, Rhys Turley, Rowan Turley, and Gavin Turley.

Including his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Valeria Winterhoff.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Klein Funeral home Champion Forest.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Klein Funeral Home, Champion Forest.
