Richard Mark Wenger died peacefully on January 15, 2023, at the age of 76, surrounded by his wife and daughters, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Richard was the middle child of Earl and Doris Wenger and grew up in South River, New Jersey. He graduated from Princeton University Class of '68 with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering before serving in the Army in Vietnam. He and his wife Gail moved to Evansville, Indiana, where Richard had a 43-year career in plastics research and development, raised their children and made life-long friends. Upon Richard's retirement from DSM Engineering Plastics in 2015, he and Gail moved to Houston, and he enjoyed a full life of new friends, church service, tennis, photography, travel to national parks and beyond, and more time with grandchildren.

Richard will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 51 years, Gail, daughters, Carrie Hinrichs (Bill) of New York City, Colleen Mangold (Jason) of Cypress, Texas, adored grandchildren Abigail, William and Ann Hinrichs, Emma and Owen Mangold, as well as his brother Michael Wenger (Betty) of Califon, New Jersey, sister Leslie Fitzgerald (Steve) of Savannah, Georgia, extended family and numerous dear friends.

Visitation will be held at 10am on Friday, January 27, at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Spring, Texas, followed by a funeral mass at 11am. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or National Parks Foundation.
