Richard (Dick) Weidner, 86, of Houston died at home on November 4 ^th , 2021 after a long illness. He was born June 14 ^th , 1935 in Elgin, IL to the late Joseph T. Weidner and Edith Marie Dittrich Weidner. He was a proud alumnus of Loyola University Chicago and a lifelong fan of the Bears and his Chicago "Cubbies."  A salesman for Scott Paper Company, he moved his family to Houston in 1971 after previous appointments in Wisconsin, Missouri, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. The family built a loving home in Harris County filled with his favorite jazz records, Blue Bell ice cream and where "Kleenex was always a dirty word." After retiring from Scott Paper Company, he got much pleasure out of volunteering with the Outreach Program at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, where he made many wonderful friends. His family was amongst one of the founding members of Prince of Peace. He was blessed with a rich singing voice and a dry wit, which always made his loved ones laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Winnie Casey Weidner, and his four children, Mark Weidner (Debbie) of Richardson, TX, Dan Weidner (Donna) and Mike Weidner (Shannon) of Cypress, TX, and Beth Wagner (Scott) of Centerville, OH; grandchildren Morgan, Grant, Shannon, Ross, Kyle, Paige, Katie, Jayden, Kylee, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanette Nelson, Marie Raupp, and brother Joseph (Joe) Weidner Jr.

The family will greet visitors in the Mary Chapel of Prince of Peace Catholic Community on November 9, 2021 at 9:30AM, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Community.
