Richard "Rick" Wayne Smith, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on March 7, 2018.

Rick was born on May 15, 1945, in Dallas, TX, to Rev. Morris and Gladys Smith.

He is preceded by his father, Morris Smith, mother, Gladys Smith, sister, Barbara Riddel, and brother, Max C. Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Song Smith. He is also survived by his children, Kimberly Tuttle and her husband James, Mark Smith and his wife Gloria, Sandy Schwarz and her husband Jaime, Ryan Smith and his wife Angela.

He was a loving and proud grandfather to Kyle and Austin Tuttle; Colton Smith; Jacob, Tyler, and Nathan Schwarz; and Reagan and Cameron Smith.

Rick was an Army veteran, a pilot, a devoted Methodist, and faithful friend to his church family. He loved the outdoors, spending time with his children and grandchildren, family meals, the arts, and mornings.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:00am, at The Foundry United Methodist Church at 8350 Jones Rd, Houston, TX 77065 with internment service immediately following at Klein Memorial Park, 14711 Cypress N. Houston, Cypress, TX 77429.
