Richard Seeger, 92, beloved father, grandfather, and friend went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2017. Richard was born on November 11, 1924 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He also lived in Ashland, Wisconsin during his childhood. His father passed away tragically when he was only 7 years old. It was during this time that his mother moved to Milwaukee where they struggled to make ends meet during the Great Depression. Upon graduation from high school, Richard enlisted in the Marine Corps to serve our country during World War II. His time in the service included assignments as a drill instructor at San Diego MCRD and a tour of duty with the Marine Air Wing in the Pacific. He maintained lifetime friendships with some of his Marine buddies.

Upon returning home from overseas, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Business Administration. It was during this time that he married the love of his life, Mavis Mireau, a bond that lasts to this day. A very successful career in the oil business followed with relocations to the Chicago suburbs and Houston. He enjoyed travel to Florida, California, Mexico and the islands of the Caribbean. Being a grandfather was a complete joy to him, and he enjoyed watching 3 beautiful grandkids grow up. He loved sports, grilled steaks, and the daily newspaper. People who knew him always recognized his sense of humor, big voice and great personality. We will always remember him.

A committal service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Friday April 21, 2017 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Tx. 77048
