Richard Willis Schmude (October 10, 1931 – February 2, 2022)
Richard was born and raised in St. Clair, Mi. He attended the University of Michigan where he met his wife Winifred. After college, he enlisted in the Army during the Korean War. He went on to attend Georgetown University where he earned his Juris Doctorate. Richard served in the US Department of Justice as an appellate attorney under Attorney General Robert Kennedy and as a young attorney, he argued as lead counsel before the US Supreme Court. After 7 years with the Justice Department, he worked as a corporate lawyer with Exxon for 26 years. Richard is survived by his 5 brothers and sisters, Don, Judy, Barbara, Dennis and Frederick and is also survived by his children, Richard Jr., James, Catherine, Frederick, Carol, Connie, Daniel, Erik, Douglas, John, and 12 grandchildren.
