Richard Louis Ramirez, 72, was born in Houston, TX, on December 10, 1951 and passed away peacefully with his wife Connie at his bedside, surrounded by his loving family on March 11, 2024.

Richard was the fourth child of fifteen children and was preceded in death by his parents, Ophelia G. Ramirez and Ignacio L. Ramirez, his parents in-law, Andrea R. Serena and Jesse V. Serena, brother Nacho Ramirez, sister Theresa Morales, and brothers-in-law Jimmy Serena, Sr. and Michael A. Lara.   Richard is survived by his wife, Connie Serena Ramirez, children, Jimmy Serena, Jr., Monica A. Leija (Armando), Samantha M. Adame (Julian), Jessie Serena and grandchildren, Gabriela, Maya, Vicente, Santiago, Julianna, Raquel, Andrea, Isabella, and Vivienne.

He is also survived by his siblings: Maria Ramirez (NachoṪ), Roosevelt Morales (TheresaṪ), Alice Martinez (Miguel), Michael Ramirez (Patricia), Johnny Ramirez (Mary), Margaret Askandari (Khosrow), Elizabeth Petry (Tony), Marie Mihealsick (John), Anita Rodriguez (Ray), Albert Ramirez, Nancy Lara (Michael +), Gino Ramirez (Maria), Jeanette Gomez (Michael), Christina Ramirez, siblings-in-law, Minerva Ruiz, Jesse Serena, Cynthia Kleinworth, Christina Serena and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Richard had a heart of gold, was a man of faith with a gentle soul. He was incredibly generous and helpful with his family, even donating one of his kidneys to his father. Richard was so funny; always quick to share a smile and jokes. He was very proud of his family and often bragged on them.

Richard attended Kashmere Gardens Elementary, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School and graduated from St. Pius X High School, Class of '71. He was very athletic, lettered in Track and Football and held the fastest mile record for 4 years.

Richard met the love of his life, Connie, at a high school dance and they were happily married for 45 years. He was a devoted and loving husband, often singing to her and showering her with gifts and red roses. Together, they adopted and raised four children in a loving, God-fearing household. He enjoyed a very active lifestyle and was his children's number one fan at every game or school event. Richard adored his grandchildren and affectionately doted on them.

After co-owning K & R Auto Repair and Body Shop in the Heights, he relocated to Grapevine, Texas and accepted a position with Greyhound where he worked until his retirement in 2014.

Richard was a very loyal sports fan and much to his family's chagrin, was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He absolutely loved them and his family appreciated him more for it. Richard enjoyed living in the DFW area where he could easily attend Cowboy games, camps and often shared his Cowboy experiences with his family. Richard also loved fast cars, especially his red Mustang convertible.

Richard lived a life filled with love, laughter and kindness, leaving behind a legacy cherished by his family. His whole hearted generosity and warm personality touched the hearts of those around him. Richard's vibrant spirit will be deeply missed, leaving a void that will not be easily filled. May his memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
