Richard Jerry Quinones beloved husband, dad, grandpa and friend passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022 with his family by his side. Born February 3rd, 1945 to Mexican immigrant parents Manuel and Anita Quinones in LA junta, Colorado. He grew up in Norwalk, California where he met the love of his life, Yuvonna Messina when they were 16 years old. This was after Richard's mom Anita ran over Vonnies' dogs' tail in the street. These two were married on November 28th, 1964. They then moved into their first apartment and met unknowingly, lifelong friends Ken and Margaret Murray. Dad and Ken enlisted into the Marine Corp. in January of 1966 during the Vietnam War. Richard was stationed in North Carolina at Camp LeJeune and Vonnie of course went with him. Richard worked as a mechanic for the Marines on military vehicles. Richard and Vonnie returned to California when their first child, Richard Dennis was born on June 23rd, 1968. Not too long after they welcomed daughter Lisa Ann into the family on November 25th, 1970. Richard immediately starting attending Golden West College taking night courses as he supported his family and completed his Business Administrations degree at Redlands, California. In 1976 Richard worked in his father Manuel Quinones' chrome plating shop R & M Plating prior to gaining employment with Smith International as a Quality Assurance Manager achieving two patents during his tenure. All the while he spent time encouraging his children to participate in worship, sports where he was always on the sidelines encouraging, having beach nights with family and friends and working on his 1948 International. In 1989 Richard and family accepted a transfer to the great state of Texas with Smith International. In Texas Richard acclimated himself by finding a new church home and participating in local tennis clubs. In 1996 Richard began another career path with Shell Oil Company where he was and auditor and traveled to many countries all over the world. One of the most memorable work trips was to Italy when Vonnie was invited to join for the six weeks. As Richard was an adventurous foodie, the Italians were a perfect match. Richard retired from Shell and settled with Vonnie in Conroe. As the grandchildren started coming along, Richard and Vonnie spent much time with them encouraging worship and sports as they did with their own children. They were ever present at any celebrations, sporting events or sleepovers as the grandkids grew.

Richard is survived in this life by his loving wife Vonnie Quinones, son Rick Quinones, daughter Lisa Kennedy, grandchildren Randy Kennedy Jr., Kain Kennedy, Trevor Quinones and Maci Quinones.
