Richard was born in Panama City, Florida on the 7th of December, 1957. In 1974 Richard moved to Houston, Texas where he called home until his passing on the 18th of May, 2017. Richard was a God fearing man that always helped others, and he was dearly loved by all his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his Wife of 32 years, Cheryl Ann Philpitt. He was the proud father of his two daughters; Kristin Tuma and Rachael Angelilli. He was a loving brother of four siblings; Lisa Wyatt, Sharon McAllister, Patricia Odom, and Paul Bevan. Richard also has a loving legacy of grandchildren; Chance Tuma, Kennedy Tuma, Chloe Angelilli, Hudson Byer, Arden Tuma, Carter Angelilli, and arriving soon, Asher Tuma.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Richard held on the 24th of May, 2017, 10:00am at Northwest Church of Christ , 6720 W. Tidwell Rd. Houston, Texas 77092
