Richard "Dick" Charles Odehnal, 92 fondly known as "DaddiO" passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Houston, Texas.  Dick was born on February 25, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Louise Odehnal he was the middle child of three, older brother Ken and younger sister Doe.   After attending Lindblom High School, Dick went on to receive a degree in business from Carthage College in Wisconsin.

He landed his dream job with Shell Oil Company and was a loyal executive for 30 years attaining southwest regional manager.  Dick will be remembered for loving his family, friends and church family with all his heart. His strong faith and great sense of humor, always positive attitude was reflected in how he treated everyone and was heart felt.  These were admired attributes by all who knew and loved him agreeing, he was "one of a kind".   We are blessed to have known a person with such character.

Through the years Dick served on many church committees and companies' boards.  He took great pride in being a founding member of Dawn Patrol at John Wesley Methodist Church and lifetime of volunteering was genuinely appreciated by many organizations.  Personally, Dick especially looked forward to month long summer road trips with his family across the entire US.  Also, travelling the world with his wife Marcheta of 53 years.  Trips of a lifetime were visiting his mother's home in Norway including a stay in a medieval castle in Wales.  He was an avid golfer, enjoyed hiking, and camping with friends on the Great Lakes including glider flights with his son.  Dick's beautiful life will forever be missed and cherished in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as all who knew him.

Dick is survived by his sister Doe Crisp, 4 children and their partners, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He is also proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Louise, his brother Ken, loving wife Marcheta, daughter Susan and second wife Mary Sawallisch.

The family will receive visitors Friday, June 28th, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at John Wesley United Methodist Church – Champion Forest.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 28th at 11:00 AM at John Wesley United Methodist Church – Champion Forest, Rev. Cheryl Smith officiating.  Interment to follow in Klein Memorial Park, Spring-Klein.
