RICHARD LOUIS MOORE

On Monday, May 3, 2021, Richard Louis Moore, went to meet Our Lord in Heaven. Born June 30, 1943 in Houston, Texas to James C. and Ethel (Lentschke) Moore. Being a native Houstonian his entire life, he completed his education in the Houston Independent School District, attended the University of Houston for his B.B.A. and graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1970. He practiced family law for 51 years and exceeded in his devotion to criminal law. Married to Theresa (Slavinsky) Moore for 49 years they had 3 daughters. Jennifer Koepplinger married to Marc Koepplinger, Jackie Moore, Julie Brown married to John Brown, and 8 grandchildren. Madison Deputy married to Randy Deputy, Anthony Moore and fiancé Jessica DeBella, McKenzie Moore, Evan Koepplinger, Riley Koepplinger, Ivie Brown, Savannah Broussard, and Barrett Broussard. He leaves behind his sister Sharon Moore and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard served his community by volunteering on many committees, both local and professional. Serving with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo helped satisfy his deep desire for children to have a means in furthering their education, through scholarships. He enjoyed Las Vegas, Galveston, Disney World, and Big Band Music. Shipley Donuts, Blue Bell Ice Cream, James Coney Island Hotdogs and popcorn filled his belly. He always said it was all "organic." He loved to watch the Red Cardinal couple "Mr. and Mrs." in our back yard, while collecting memorabilia no one wants today. He would so enjoy that laugh. In his devotion to family he leaves a legacy, summed up in a quote from him, "Love can solve all problems."
