With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Alvin McCranie, a devoted Christian, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who entered eternal rest on March 13, 2025. Rich brought joy and love into the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Tommy Allen, his children, Shawn McCranie and Cheryl Loewe, his grandchildren, Patrick, Brandon, and Shawna McCranie, Derek, Melissa, and Isabel Loewe, grandchild, Nova McCranie, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, Rich lived his life with unwavering love for his family, his friends, and his faith. His kindness, generosity, and deep sense of adventure left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Known for his warm heart, unwavering strength, he was the wind beneath the wings of those who loved him, offering guidance, support, and encouragement at every step of life.
As a son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Rich embraced each role with love, wisdom, generosity, and compassion. He took great pride in his family and was always present for them, offering his unconditional love and support. His children remember him as a wonderful and devoted father, always ready to lend an ear, a hand, or a word of encouragement. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were deeply loved and cherished, and his legacy will live on in their hearts for generations to come.
A lifelong engineer, Rich was passionate about his work and traveled the world, using his skills and expertise to make a difference wherever he went. He approached his career with the same dedication and integrity that he applied to every area of his life. His adventurous spirit took him to places near and far, but no matter where he went, he always kept his heart grounded in his love for God and his family.
His legacy is not measured in years or achievements, but in the countless lives he touched with his gentle spirit, his unwavering faith, and his selfless acts of kindness. He was a man who lived with purpose, joy, and love, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his big heart, and the countless memories he created with those who were fortunate enough to know him. His presence brought warmth, and his love will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Though his time with us was too short, the impact he made will never fade.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 , at Bammel Road Church of Christ , located on FM 1960 , at 10:30 am . Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to join in remembering and honoring the remarkable man he was.
Rest in peace, Richard. You will be missed by all who knew you! You were a light to us all, and your love and faith will continue to guide us until we are reunited again in heaven.
