Richard (RICK) Michael Lynch 1956-2020 Rick Lynch was born in Houston, Texas on December 9, 1956 to Kay and Tom Lynch and lived most of his life in the Houston area until his sudden death on December 22, 2020. Rick was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, and grand dad (PopPop). He gave most of his life to his passion, the profession of coaching high school baseball, for 37 years. Rick was one of the most genuine, humble, and caring people you could ever know…. much loved and admired by so many. Rick was well known across the baseball community. Some of his many accomplishments include: American Baseball Coaches Association National Coach of the Year; American Baseball Coaches Association Regional Coach of the Year; UIL League Excellence Award; Ray Knoblauch Coach Of the Year; Bellaire High School Hall of Fame; Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association ALL-STAR Coach; Ten times District Coach of the Year; Winner of the State Championship in 2015 and scouting supervisor for the Pittsburgh Pirates. But his real true love was his relationships with his players and coaching staffs. Rick is survived by his parents, Kay and Tom Lynch; his wife of 35 years, Nancy McKellar Lynch; son Michael Ryan (Kendall), daughter Amber Elizabeth, and son Mitchell Jack; three grandchildren, Ashlyn, Emma and Ryan Lynch; Brother Rob Lynch (Nanette); Brother-in-law Walter Ed McKellar (Cheryl); numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Rick's life will be held on Monday, December 28 at 1:00 PM at Concordia Lutheran High School Baseball Field. The service will also be live streamed via Texanlive.com.
