Obituary

Richard Kent Williams, 71, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on June 17, 2026. Born on August 23, 1954, in Houston, Texas, he was the son of the late Harvey Richard Williams and Arnell Agnes Williams.

Richard graduated from Deer Park High School in 1973 and earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University in 1977. Practical, steady, and curious by nature, he built a life shaped by craftsmanship and care—qualities that were evident not only in his work but also in the way he approached his family and the outdoors he loved.

An outdoorsman at heart, Richard found his greatest peace surrounded by family and friends or sitting in a deer stand with his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours fishing and hunting and was happiest on the back of a good horse. He also enjoyed collecting knives and firearms, taking pride in the stories and history each piece carried.

Richard is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cyndi Ellis Williams; his sons, Brandon Shane Williams (Dawn) and Dustin Lynn Elliott; his daughter, Kacy Richell Thompson (Jacob); and his grandchildren, Jace, Lucas, Bryton, Keelee, Ret, and Jed.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and the gentle way he taught those around him to love the land, respect their tools, and show up for the people they care about. His family is especially thankful for the enduring friendship and unwavering support of Chris, Melody, and Sophia Lemonds.
