He had a long successful career in the oil and gas industry beginning as a mud engineer and earning his way to the Drilling Fluids Operations Manager for the Gulf Coast region until he retired in 2019. Those who worked with him not only knew him as a boss but a mentor and friend.
Rick was the Houston Astros biggest fan and loved attending and watching games with his family and friends. He was an avid music lover and still has numerous vinyl that continued to be played. He was always up for an adventure and never let age slow him down, including white water rafting and zip lining in the mountains just 2 years ago. He loved to golf as well as being outside getting into shape on his daily 10 mile bike rides in the recent years. Rick was incredibly intelligent and also found pride in building and constructing around the house and always had a project going. He loved to serve others and would do anything for anyone, no matter what time of day or night. Most importantly, his favorite thing was to be with his family. His grandchildren brought him immense joy and he prioritized his time with everyone in his family. He brought laughter and smiles to all those around him and his legacy will live on through his family and friends.
