In Loving Memory of Richard Gaither

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Richard (Rick) Lee Gaither, a kind and generous soul whose quiet strength and deep compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He lived with a profound sense of purpose, wonder, and connection, values that reflected a spirit deeply in tune with the sacredness of life. His faith was lived and seen in the way he loved, gave, nurtured, and cared.

Rick was born April 7, 1954, to Richard Lee Gaither and Ora May Dyer in Corpus Christi, Texas. Rick entered the military service in December 1971. He proudly served as a Private First Class in the 30th Infantry Battalion of the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged in December 1974. Rick married the love of his life, Cleo, on January 31, 1998.

Rick spent his career working with computers, including hosting servers from his home. For all his love of modern technology and computers, he also loved the simplicity of flip phones and MP3 players. He loved rock music and had an extensive library of songs.

Rick loved to travel, going on trips and cruises around the world with his wife, Cleo, and furbabies, Elvis and Presley. Rick spent most of his time with his friends and family, engaging in passionate conversations and sharing his love of knowledge through fascinating facts and spirited debates. In short, he "kicked ass" and looked good while doing it.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tommy Gaither, his son Shawn Gaither, and his beloved dog Teddy Bear.
He is survived by his wife, Cleo Gaither, sons Ryan Gaither and wife Angel, Andrew Nugent and wife Randi, daughter Latisha McNeel and husband Owen, all of Spring, TX, his sister Ava Sloan and husband Jack of Seabrook, and his brother-in-law Danny Boen of Spring, TX. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Anastasia, Jonas, Rhiannon, and Tristan.

Rick's life was also filled with the joyful companionship of his furbabies Elvis and Presley, who will miss him dearly. His granddogs, Lexie, Moose, Chewy, Diamond, and Akita, were also part of the family he cherished.

We take comfort in knowing that such a good and faithful heart is surely at peace, wrapped in love and light, and welcomed into eternal rest. We know that we will be reunited in heaven one day.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, June 22nd, from 5pm to 8pm at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 23rd at 2pm at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379. Interment to follow on Tuesday, June 24th at 1:45pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
