Richard Franklin Dillon, Jr., age 67, successfully finished the race and went home to the Lord on November 4 ^th , 2021 in Houston, TX. He was born the second of three children in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 16 ^th , 1954 to parents Richard and Blanche Dillon. He was a devoted son seeing to his parents' wellbeing throughout their lives.

Though a proud midwestern boy, Richard moved to Houston for college to pursue a degree in music from Gulf Coast Bible College originally located in the historic Heights neighborhood of Houston.

It was while at college that Richard became enchanted by a lovely girl from Peru named Genoveva. He made it his mission to impress this young lady by becoming fluent in Spanish which did succeed in catching her attention. Richard and Genoveva were married on December 21 ^st , 1979 and were just shy of their 42 ^nd wedding anniversary.

Richard lived a life devoted to helping others. Whether there were physical needs, the needs for attention, spiritual needs, or counseling he trusted that as he would turn his concern on meeting the needs of others, Jesus would meet his individual needs. Richard and Genoveva built a beautiful life together. It was not always easy or luxurious, but they worked hard and kept their Savior as their focus. They were blessed with a daughter followed by two sons. The family continues to expand today with the addition of grandchildren.

Much of Richard's early career was spent working for churches and at Rice Food Market. He later found his niche working in IT at ExxonMobil, retiring after over twenty years.

Apart from work, Richard advocated for conservative values in government, spreading the Word with The Gideons, teaching Sunday School at his home church of Harvest Christian Fellowship, was a member of the NRA, and studied the complexities of the stock market.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Dillon; and father-in-law, Arturo Saldana.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Genoveva; his children, Elizabeth Stinsman and husband Ben, Andrew Dillon and wife Ashley, and Joshua Dillon and wife Jordan; grandchildren, Alexis Dillon, Nathaniel Dillon, and a granddaughter on the way; mother-in-law, Rosa Saldana; brother-in-law, Jonathan Saldana; sister-in-law, Wanda Ortega and husband Tony; niece, Autumn Ortega; and nephews, Antonio Ortega and Jared Ortega.

Visitation will be held at 9:00am on Wednesday, November 17 ^th , 2021 at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, TX 77379 followed by the funeral service at 10:00am.
