Richard Randolph Brown, 76, of Houston, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Rick was born to Lester Brown and Marjorie Bergfield Brown on May 20, 1944, in Austin, Texas. He was married to Linda Brown for over 27 loving years. A graduate of William B. Travis High School in 1962, he attended the University of Texas and was a proud Longhorn. Rick spent a lifetime in the foodservice industry making life-long friends out of customers and colleagues by treating them like family. Rick retired from Sysco with over 30 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and loved to spend his days wetting a hook on the bays and flats of Rockport, Texas. Every week you could find Rick and his best friend, Bob Wright, chasing reds and trout. When not fishing, he enjoyed spending his time in Rockport with Linda and their dogs, often visiting with friends and neighbors from the seat of his golf cart. Rick is survived by his wife, Linda; son Chris Brown and wife Denise; son Travis Brown, son Brad Salter and wife Devin; sister Bunny Bennett; grandchildren Ashlee, Ricky, Grant, Ty, Lacy and Grace. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Marjorie Brown and son Scott Salter.
The family will hold a private ceremony.
