Rhys Davies of Spring, TX passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025 at the age of 95. Rhys was one of five children. His father was a Presbyterian minister; his mother was the church secretary.
Rhys had quite the adventurous spirit and loved life. In his younger years he hiked for miles enjoying the countryside, hitchhiked to various places around the country, and even joined a traveling carnival. He had a love of the outdoors, woodworking, great literature, photography, and gardening. He always had a good story to tell and loved making others laugh.
After being honorably discharged from the Marines, Rhys continued his college career where he met his wife of 61 years, Pepper. Rhys earned a Masters in Geology and had a 32 year career as a respected micropaleontologist in the oil industry.
Rhys was a loving husband and father of two daughters, always supporting his family in their endeavors.
Rhys is preceded in death by his siblings and his wife Hannelore "Pepper" Davies.
Rhys is survived by his daughters Ann Hudson and Margaret DiCarlo (husband, Louis); six grandchildren: Ryan, Taylor, Wes, Stephanie, Emily, and Joel; and nine great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 11:00AM at The Village at Gleannloch Farms 9505 Northpointe Blvd. Spring, TX 77379
