Obituary

Reynaldo Garcia Rivera, 92, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2020 at his home in Cypress, Texas. Mr. Rivera, the youngest of ten siblings, was born and raised in Taft, Texas.

In 1962, Reynaldo and his young family, moved to Houston, Texas, where he began his career in the commercial construction industry. One of his proudest professional accomplishments was his contribution to the construction of Transco Tower.

When not working, this jack-of-all-trades was generous with his time and talents. Mr. Rivera enjoyed helping family and friends with their home remodeling projects, automotive repairs, and welcomed any opportunity to utilize his vast collection of tools and gadgets. If you could not find him working on the roof, in the garden or garage, he was likely to be found sharing one of his colorful stories with an eager audience.

Known as Ray, Dad, Tio Ray, Grandpa, or "Lito" to family and friends, Reynaldo was loved for his kind and compassionate spirit, always ready with an endearing "Mi Hijo" or" Mi Hija" to brighten your day.

To Olga, his wife of 67 years, Mr. Rivera was a constant companion and fearless protector. She went to be with The Lord last year and we rejoice in the knowledge that they are eternally reunited.

Mr. Rivera was preceded in death by his beloved wife; his parents, Felipe and Conchita Rivera; and his brothers and sisters.  He is survived by son, Rolan Rivera and wife Marian; daughters, Linda Leal and Reyna Rivera; grandchildren, Jeffrey Leal, Annette Hernandez, Alex Rudenko, A J Rivera, Brian Ludden; and Tyler Ludden; great-grandchildren, Audrey Hamilton and Evan Ludden;
sister-in-law, Virginia Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
