Regina Lea Wellman, 73, of Tomball, Texas, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on April 2, 2025.

Gina, as we all knew her, was born on March 9, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Pete Wallace and Ann Johns (McAdams).

The oldest of three children, Gina faced many responsibilities as a youth, forcing her to grow up quickly and equipping her with a maturity beyond her years. A young mother herself, her daughter, D'Ann, was born while her husband, Paul, was deployed during the Vietnam War. This solidified in Gina a strength and wisdom that would become the foundation upon which she stood as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Her son, Michael, was born next, and the door to many years of involvement with the Boy Scouts of America was opened. Never one to rest on her laurels, Gina was also involved in the local community as a foster parent, alongside Paul. During those years, they provided love and support to many hurting children.

A redhead, Gina had a boundless energy that would propel her family into many years of fun adventures. She coordinated countless camping trips, making "Gina dogs" for her family as they traveled all over Texas, scouting out a new state park. Her fiery torch blazed brightly for the years to come, raising her family and feeding anyone and everyone who would stay for dinner. Gina loved to cook. She would say she only knew how to cook for an army, no little meals for her. Gina was an award-winning cook and a local celebrity (to us), having also appeared on the local news to highlight one of her famous recipes. Her family was sustained over the years by not only her undying love and devotion but also on pounds of cornbread stuffing and Texas sheet cake.

Gina (Gigi) and Paul (Frampa) went on to become the loving grandparents to nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Therein lies the treasure!

Several years ago, the tides of her life turned, and she was called to draw upon that foundational strength to get her through a hard-fought journey with her health. And, when she could not walk anymore, her words of wisdom became her love language. Gina never stopped loving. If you met her for the first time or the hundredth, she would tell you how beautiful you are.

Paul was her beloved husband of fifty-six years and the love of her life. Over those years, they were never far apart and always had a sweet kiss for each other. In the rare times that they were apart, they never failed to say I love you. We are an "I love you" family because of them. Gina became the pillar of strength in Paul's life. Later, despite his declining health, he lovingly stood by her, taking care of her over the many years that she could not care for herself. He became her strength.

Gina was intelligent, courageous, outgoing (to a fault), and could master almost anything she put her mind to. There are volumes in heaven holding all of the ways that she blessed our lives, and the Lord has counted every single one.

Gina is survived by; her husband Robert P. Wellman; daughter and son-in-law Lynda (D'Ann) and Shane Vereen; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Wendi Wellman; granddaughter Rebecca Tobias; grandson Joshua Greer (wife Brittany); grandson Caleb Greer; grandson Brandon Wellman; granddaughter Kylie Wellman; granddaughter; Ashley Wellman; grandaughter Savannah Garza; grandaughter Natalie Garza; grandson Jaxson Wellman; great-grandson Benjamin Tobias; great-grandaughter Violet Tobias; great-grandson Lincoln Greer; great-grandson Brandon Wellman; great-grandson Michael David Wellman; great-grandson Malakai Tristan; sister Deborah French; and brother Dennis Wallace. Along with many family members who lovingly remember her and feel her loss.

Gina was preceded in death by her father, mother, and grandson, Caleb. Her mother, Ann, went home to be with the Lord two weeks and one day before her beloved daughter and was there to greet her on her return home.
