Rebecca Tautenhahn Strack Stone passed away March 21,2022 at the age of 93 in Tomball, Texas. Rebecca was born January 14, 1929, in Westfield, Texas to the late Carl Herman Tautenhahn and Murle Eleanor (Dulany) Tautenhahn. She grew up attending Westfield Church of Christ where her family was very active and loved singing.

Rebecca (Mother, Mom, Nanny, Grand-Nanny, Aunt Becky) was a wonderful inspiration to so many.  She graduated from Aldine High School and then married Chester Strack in 1946. She was a homemaker and full-time busy mom. She was an active member of Immanuel Church in Old Town Spring.  As their four children were growing up, she was involved in all of their activities including serving as a Sunday School teacher, 4-H Club and Spring Tri-Club leader, FFA, FHA, Band and Cheerleader Boosters, Cub Scout leader and Little League mom.  She was a member of the Spring PTA and Garden Club.  After moving to Tomball, she was active at the Rosehill United Methodist Church and participated in BSF bible studies, making several trips to Lake Junalaska in North Carolina for bible study retreats. Becky was a very talented seamstress, making dresses for many weddings. Nanny loved her 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren so much, and each one had a very special place in her heart.

Following Chester's death, she married her childhood friend, James Stone, who had also attended Westfield Church of Christ.  They enjoyed trips to the deer lease, tidying up family cemeteries, and front porch sitting.

Rebecca loved genealogy research and was a member of Colonial Dames of the 17 ^th Century, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Spring Creek Historical Association and Chaparral Genealogical Society.  She was also passionate about caring for area family cemeteries, spending time cleaning headstones and pulling weeds around markers. She dearly loved family reunions and celebrations of any kind, and was considered an expert on the history of the Spring, Klein and Tomball areas.

Rebecca is survived by her son Carlton (Judy) Strack, daughter, Brenda Spiess, son, Charles (Sandy) Strack; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) Wells, Dawn (Josh) Jakubik, Bubba (Lindsay) Strack, Cindy (Wilson) Warner, Troy (Brittany) Spiess, Wendi (Jason) Danna, Eric (Myschel) Spiess, Josh (Tiffany) Strack; 14 great grandchildren: Katie, Rhett, Julia, Wyatt, Lauren, Hunter, Chase, Macie, Coltin, Mitchell, Gavin, Camden, Makenzie and Kevin; several stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Including her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her first husband of 45 years, Chester Strack, second husband of 24 years, James Stone, brothers C.H. and Reagan Tautenhahn, sister, Norma Deaton, daughter Eleanor Roberts and sons in law, Mike Spiess and Steve Roberts.

The family will receive visitors Monday, March 28, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main St. Tomball TX, 77375. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10:00 am at Klein Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Rasco officiating.  Interment to follow in Budde Cemetery.
