Rebecca Lynn Robertson, 65 years young, transitioned into Heaven on Thursday, January 2nd, 2020 near midnight. Her two daughters and husband of 34 years were snuggled by her side. After her valiant fight with metastatic lung cancer, beginning in August of 2018, Rebecca's battle took a turn for the worse in December 2019 as the cancer began growing in the liver. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through 16 months of treatment. Throughout her own battle with cancer, she reached out to others affected by the same disease in many ways. Even prior to her diagnosis, she thoroughly enjoyed spending her time volunteering in hospitals, Alzheimer's clinics, Meals on Wheels, Texas Miracle Ranch, and Henry's Home Horse Sanctuary.

Rebecca was born on June 14, 1954 in Kansas City to Raymond and Doris Stockton. The youngest of 3 children, and the only girl, she definitely received special treatment from her parents and brothers.

Rebecca lived in many different places before she began her career as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines. It was there that she met her wild sweetheart, Rodney Robertson. The couple married 1 year after meeting, and their marriage has been full of love, laughter, and adventure.

They were married for just shy of 35 years and raised their 2 dear children, Hayley and Shelby, in Houston, Texas. Rebecca's girls were her absolute pride and joy. The three of them shared such a strong bond, people often confused Rebecca as being an older sister to the girls rather than their mother. They were the best of friends, who withheld no secrets from one another, shared everything, and went everywhere together.

Known for her infectious smile and her love for reading, Rebecca could light up a room just by entering it. She possessed a contagious laugh and an extremely entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and adventurous demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who, even now, are being changed by her witness of constant joy, faith, and love. Rebecca enjoyed her date nights with Rodney, gardening, laying in the pool, working with her friends, volunteering, and taking road trips in her convertible. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney; her two children, Hayley and Shelby and their husbands, Matthew and Derrick; her beloved granddaughter, Avalyn; her brothers, Kent and Mark Stockton and their wives Mary Margaret and Kathy; and several nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Lastly, it is important to recognize that Rebecca did not lose the battle to cancer, for it is simply impossible for one to win or lose in cancer. Rebecca fought valiantly, and though she was not healed physically, she was healed spiritually, and gained the most precious prize she could imagine: an authentic relationship with her Lord and Savior and His gift of salvation.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me- the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8

A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm, Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Angel Oaks Events, 314A, Pruitt Rd, Spring, TX 77380. A Celebration of Life will follow at Papa's Ice House located next to the venue. Please wear Hawaiian attire and/or enter the service barefoot or with socks in honor of Rebecca.
