Mr. Raymond "Ricky" Cecil Rickett Jr, age 62, of Magnolia, Tx passed away on October
8, 2018 in Yuma, Arizona.
Ricky Rickett, son of Raymond "Bo" Cecil Rickett, Sr. and the late Mildred Rickett,
was born on March 2, 1956 in Tomball, Tx. Ricky was the 4th generation of the
Rickett family to be raised in Magnolia, Texas. He attended and graduated school in
Magnolia, Tx and married Alta Kay Gunn on January 20, 1979. He worked for Pinehurst
Gravel and then started Ricky Rickett Sand and Gravel Company, where he worked for
over 40 years, helping to create a generational trade to be passed down to his sons.
Ricky and surviving spouse, Alta had 4 children over a 12 year span. Asa Cecil
Rickett II, Devin Renee Rickett, Aaron Barnett Rickett and Abram Austin Rickett.
Ricky lived for his family. Every decision he made was for them. He loved his
community here in Magnolia, where he had lived all of his life, married and raised
his family and watched all of his children marry and begin their lives. Ricky was
involved in many aspects of his community and was a member of Magnolia's First
Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his father, Raymond Cecil Rickett, Sr., 3 siblings, Tracy Janota,
Suzanne Holland and Jonathan Rickett, his 7 grand children, Beaux Dean, Asa Cecil
Rickett, III, Aiden and Ava Rickett, Asher Rickett, Hadley Rickett and Patrick Devore, 11 cousins
and a multitude of extended family. He also leaves behind a groups of life long
friends that he loved like family. Ricky Rickett left a lasting impression on every
person that he encountered and touched many hearts during his time on this earth. He
be will deeply missed by his family, friends and many people in his hometown.
