Raymond was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and raised by parents George and Mary Boytim. Ray enlisted in the Air force and served from 1955—1959 and fought in the Korean war. He became a 2nd Lieutenant and after four years went to college on the G.I. bill. He went to college and graduated from Pitt University with a degree in petroleum Engineering. Ray left college and went to work for Shell Oil Company as a Petroleum Engineer, He held many executive positions with Shell from 1960 to 1992 when he retired. After retiring from Shell Oil he went to work for six years as a consultant for Exxon Mobile. During his career with Shell Oil he took up running at the age of 46 and went on to successfully run 233 completed Marathons and hundreds of 5K and 10K races until age 84. He completed the Houston Marathon 33 straight years. Ray's predeceased spouses Betty Boytim, Sandra Boytim and Joyce Boytim. He is survived by his Son: Jeffrey Boytim and his Wife Tammy, Daughter: Diane Coady and her husband Matt, Son: John Boytim and his wife Patricia , His Grandchildren: Chase Boytim and Wife Shelby, Lindsey Starkey and Husband Kyle, Taryn Dennis and her Husband Carl, Brian Boytim, Sean Boytim, Chelsea Coady, Great Grand Children: Carter Starkey, Amelia Starkey, Braden Dennis, Nora Dennis, Liam Dennis, Chris Boytim, Great, Great Grand Child: Marcella Boytim. Ray was a one of kind driven business man, Family man and competitive athlete. He touched many people's lives over 92 years and was an outstanding Father, Husband and businessman.
