Ray Allen Mauldin (Nov 13, 1940–May 23, 2024) was born to Dennis Gordon Mauldin and Ruth Rose (Bohannon) Mauldin in Shawnee, Oklahoma where his Family lived before moving to Duncan, Oklahoma, then to Hobbs New Mexico, where he graduated from Hobbs HS in 1958 before his dad was transferred to Fairbanks, Texas. He attended New Mexico Military Institute for one year then Transferred to Sam Houston in Huntsville, Texas in 1961.

Ray served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1967. He entered the Army as a 2 ^nd Lt., serving with ground forces of Army Operations. He served 3 years in Germany before deployment to Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as a Captain with 4 years' service. Honors received: Vietnamese Defense Ribbon, Vietnamese Honor Medal, U. S. National Defense Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Bronze Star

R egarding service in Vietnam, Ray stated, "As a Christian, I depended on my faithful Lord and Savior to survive in the dangerous situations." The verse still displayed above his desk reads, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid" (Psalm 56:3–4)

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Gordon Mauldin; his mother Ruth Rose (Bohannon) Mauldin; daughter, Lisa Renee (Kennedy) Mauldin; He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Jean (Spencer) Mauldin; son, Mark Allen Mauldin and granddaughter Elizabeth (Mauldin) Owen and great grandchildren Addie Owen, Kaiya Owen, Anika Owen, Jax Owen and Korrie Owen; Son, Michael Lawrence Mauldin, wife Kathy and granddaughters Kayla Rae Mauldin, Carla Ann Mauldin, and Kelly Beth Mauldin ; sister Shirley Smith of Hobbs New Mexico, as well as his Oklahoma cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. He Loved and treasured his family and the body of Christ.

He loved hunting and fishing with his boys, and attending events with his grandkids. He was owner of Texas-American Trucking Company he started in 1984 and operated until May 23, 2024.

He has been a bright light and witness of faithfulness, gentleness, love, and support to his family and employees always seeking to run the race set before him and to finish well. He and Pat have been members of Lakeside Bible Church for about seventeen years. To God be the Glory for His faithfulness to Ray.
