Randall Bruce Brown, 74, of Montgomery, passed away September 5, 2022.  He was born August 21, 1948 in Littlefield, TX to Cecil and Latrille Brown.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jason Smyrl, two grandchildren, Aubrey and Ryan Smyrl, son, Bo Brown and long-term companion, Carol Carlson.

Randy was a graduate of Lubbock High School and remained life-long friends with many of his classmates.  He enjoyed keeping in contact with everyone and attending class reunions.  He went on to graduate from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.  He was an avid Tech fan and enjoyed returning to Lubbock and going to various sporting events.  After college, Randy worked his entire professional career, 35 years, for The Lubrizol Corporation at various locations across the US.  In 2019, he settled into the Bonterra community and quickly met so many great neighbors and friends.  He was a good friend to all.

He liked to be active and enjoyed being outside.  Randy liked to jog, bike ride, ski and country and western dance.  He loved to travel, especially across the great state of Texas and was a huge history buff.  Randy had a witty sense of humor and enjoyed a lively political debate.

Over the past five years, his grandchildren have been the highlight of his life.  Randy loved bringing them surprises on each visit.  He always wanted to know how they were doing and interested to know every detail about them growing up.

Randy also valued his time with his daughter on their daily talks while she was commuting to work.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Klein Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia.
