Ramona Naomi Anderson, 89, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2023, joining her beloved Gene.  She was a devoted wife, mother and Nana.  Her passions in life were many, but few were as important as her faith, her grandkids and her love of sports.

Born on June 20, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, Ramona was raised in a God-fearing household, attending church services 7 days a week.  She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1951 and began her career as a secretary.  Ramona married the love of her life, Gene, in 1953 after he gained the approval of her four older brothers.  They started a family, and briefly moved to Wichita, Kansas before settling in Houston, Texas.

Both were very active in the church.  Ramona volunteered countless hours for the Women's Ministries coordinating weddings and other events.  She was known for her kind, generous spirit and unwavering faith.  Working alongside others, she made many lifelong friends.

Ramona grew up with a love of baseball that stayed with her throughout her life.  She was an avid fan of the Houston Astros and followed their every game with unwavering enthusiasm.  As a season ticket holder, she enjoyed taking her granddaughter Kristin to the Astrodome.  The two of them spent a lot of time at the games, meeting players, eating hot dogs, and just enjoying baseball and one another.

Ramona had an infectious laugh and a love for teasing, humor and good natured fun.  She was a "good sport" and could dish it out as well as she could take it…..loving every minute of it.  She also enjoyed traveling with friends and family all around the world.

One of Ramona's greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandkids.  She loved nothing more than playing games, telling them stories and sharing in their many adventures.

Ramona will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, parents Joseph and Teddy, brothers and sister-in-laws Rex and Alma Vickers, Rod Vickers, Ronald and Ruby Vickers, Roger and Tawanda Vickers.  Ramona is survived by son Kevin Anderson, daughter Kara (Kelley) Kirker, grandchildren Gregory Anderson, Ashley (Roger) Rule, Kristin (Emile) Asous, Amy (Kyle) Morrison, Jason Kirker and Kaylee (David) Hill, great grandchildren Makenzie Asous, Madalynn Asous, Katherine Morrison, Taylor Morrison, Isabella Hill, Aidan Hill, Daniel Hill and Russell Hill.  She is also survived by her sister Vicki (Hunter) Carr, her sister-in-law Pat Vickers and many loving nieces, nephews and their families.
