Ralph was born in Owensville, Missouri on the 6th of May 1939 to Henry Benjamin and Lucy Lydia (Bellmann) Wehmeyer. He attended grade school in the one room schoolhouse at St. John Lutheran Church in Drake, MO until the 5th grade, after which he attended Rosebud Elementary School and later graduated from Owensville High School.

On June 22, 1963, Ralph was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Wehmeyer (Segelhorst) at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaufort, MO. They raised three sons, Allen (Lisa) of Holts Summit, MO; Mark (Barbara) of Hockley, TX; and Jonathan of the home. They were also blessed with seven grandchildren: Craig (Emilie), Kevin (Rebekah), Kara, Matthew (Brandy), David, Katie, and Cole, and four great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Oliver, Raelynn, and Vera.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann, and brothers, Harold and Edgar Wehmeyer. He is survived by his sisters Lucille Kaestner of St Louis, MO, and Mary (Lee) Greunke of St. Louis, MO and many other nieces and nephews.

Ralph was drafted into the US Army in 1962 and served until 1964. Ralph returned to Gerald, MO, where he joined the Carpenters Union and spent most of his career as a superintendent for various commercial construction projects. Ralph served the Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District for 30 years and served as the president on their Board of Directors for 17 years.

Ralph was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church. He served the congregation in a variety of ways, including President, Elder, and Trustee. In 2019, Ralph moved to Hockley, TX and attended church at Salem Lutheran Church of Tomball.
