Ralph W. Schneider, 98, of Spring, TX, passed away quietly at home of natural causes on October 11, 2025.  He was born April 20, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late William and Matilda Schneider.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 70 years, Alberta (Bert) who passed on April 2, 2025, at 100 years of age.

Ralph is survived by his son David Schneider wife Gayle; daughter Karen Hutchens husband Steve-deceased; daughter Mary Brett husband Ken; daughter Diane Roberts husband Johnnie; grandchildren Amanda Guyton husband Matt; Nick Hutchens wife Shelley; Justin Hutchens wife Meredith; Jason Hutchens wife Diana; Andrea Herrera partner Kat; Johnnie Roberts wife Lisa; Jason Roberts wife Niki; great grandchildren Kolbie, Cadence, Hailey, William, Cuauh, Jessica, Jayden, Jericho, Logan, Lainey, Jayde, Devin, LyhAnn, Maisie and Jaiden.

He met his wife-to-be Bert and longtime love on a blind date in 1954. After selling his prized boat to buy Bert's wedding rings he proposed and they married on February 12, 1955, and earlier this year celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with four children. He was a WWII veteran; in 1945 when Ralph turned 18, he quit school and enlisted in the U.S. Army. This is where he received electrical training that would later translate to his long-term career as an Electrical Engineer at ADT Security Systems. He started working at ADT in 1947, retiring after 42 years in 1989 at 62 years of age. His career with ADT took he and his family from their hometown of Cincinnati, OH to Long Island, New York and ultimately to Spring, TX where they settled in 1971 and remained for 54 years until passing. In 1973 he was finally able to replace his boat and for many years after enjoyed motoring and skiing on Lake Conroe with his family. As a young man Ralph enjoyed bowling and this became a lifelong passion for him and Bert and they bowled into their 80s. After retirement he and Bert volunteered at Houston NW Medical Center for many years. Ralph wheeled patients much younger than he and said he always felt blessed to be in such good condition for his age. He then ran the gift shop with Bert. He loved casinos both local and in Las Vegas playing blackjack and slots. He loved going to Bingo. He especially enjoyed musicals, both live plays and old TV movies. He enjoyed Opera singing while Bert definitely did not. He and Bert took many cruises and also travelled to many parts of the US visiting 48 of 50 states. He and Bert always had a love of playing card games and played many a game with their lifelong best friends in Ohio, Gladys and Stan Benzinger. Their card games got very rowdy, and both were very competitive. Ralph enjoyed games shows and watched them until the day he passed with his favorites being Jeopardy! Let's Make a Deal and Wheel of Fortune. Ralph was a man of God and very devout Catholic following his conversion upon marriage. He went to church every Sunday until Covid and then watched Mass on TV daily thereafter while taking communion every Monday morning during a visit from the Church. Anyone who was Blessed to know Ralph knew what a genuine and loving person he was. He will be very missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive visitors Monday, October 20th, from 7-9pm at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street, Tomball, Texas 77375.  A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday October 21st at 10:30am at St. Edward Catholic Church, 2601 Spring Stuebner Road, Spring, Texas 77389. Interment to follow in Molts Cemetery, 12889 McSwain Road, Cypress, Texas 77429.

Serving as pallbearers are David Schneider; Johnnie W. Roberts; Amanda Guyton; Justin Hutchens; Johnnie L. Roberts; Jason Roberts; honorary pallbearers are great-grandchildren Jessica, Jericho, Jayden, Cadence and Hailey.
