Obituary

Reinhardt "Roger" Wunderlich, 85 Of Spring passed away peacefully on September 21, 2016 with his family by his side. He was a resident of the Klein Community and member of Trinity Klein Lutheran Church.

Roger was born November 22, 1930 in Klein, TX to Bertha Theiss Wunderlich & Reinhardt Wunderlich. He attended Massey School of Business and University of Houston, Central Campus. He began his career with Humble Refinery, now Exxon. He worked forty years as a Research Chemist in the Specialty Coatings Division where he was credited with several patents. He served as an elder for Bethany Lutheran Church. He followed in his mother's footsteps by teaching Sunday school for over 37 years. He was the President of the North Harris County German Society for twenty years and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Men's club. Roger coached Little League Baseball for 16 years at North Houston National, and Lindale Little League. He was a passionate sports fan. He loved watching baseball, football, and basketball with his family. He often attended games to support his grandchildren and more recently his great grandchildren. His enthusiasm during games often went unrivaled. He also enjoyed farming & ranching. Roger was a world traveler, often traveling to research genealogy for his books. He published four genealogy books during his life and often served as a local historian and valuable resource for the Klein Community. He was extremely active in his community and served on the school board. Roger had a heart for evangelism. He spent years in outreach for Bethany Lutheran Church and school and supported them in every way he could. He was strong in his faith. He genuinely loved spending time with every one of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Each one was very important to him. Roger truly lived life to its fullest.

Preceded in death by his parents, Reinhardt and Bertha Wunderlich, and grandson, Adam Kyle Wunderlich. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Clarice Wunderlich; children, Ronald Wunderlich & wife Deborah, Kathlyn Cirtaus & husband Steven, Larry Wunderlich, & Brenda Walters; grandchildren, Jason Wunderlich & wife Rheaven, Nathan Wunderlich & wife Renee, Kara Nichols & husband Jody, Gregory Cirtaus, Tommy Cirtaus, Larry Wunderlich II & wife Myla, Brian Wunderlich, Kevin Wunderlich, Rachel Williams & husband Jacob, Bonnie Kerry and husband Marcus and Matthew Walters; great grandchildren, Meghan Nichols, Zachary Nichols, Kynan Wunderlich, Bella Wunderlich, Hailey Wade, Cody Williams, Morgan Williams, & Addison Kerry.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday, September 25 th at Klein Funeral home, Tomball. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, September 26, 2016 at Trinity Klein Lutheran Church, 5201 Spring Cypress Road, with Pastor Chris Singer officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Following the Interment family and friends with gather at Trinity Klein Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Trinity Klein Men's Club. For those desiring, contributions may be directed to the Trinity Klein Lutheran Building Fund, The Texas German Society, or the Trinity Klein Cemetery fund.
