Born December 25, 1927 on the Circle Back Ranch, Bailey County Texas. Passed away July 4, 2022 in Tomball, Texas. Age 94 years, 6 months, 9 days.

Born at Circle Back Ranch to Dudley Marshall and Pauline Kyzer Kent. Kris was one of seven children, a half brother Arthur, Peggy, Pat, Bill, Joe and Tim. The family moved to Sudan, Texas when Kris was two for farming and ranching. She attended Elementary School and High School in Sudan, where she played tennis, basketball and was a member of the band. She graduated at sixteen, then attended West Texas College majoring in Business. Kris was Baptized in the Baptist Church then joined the Episcopal Church.

She married in 1946 and moved to Amarillo where she raised three children, James E (wife Lauren) Brown, Sue Brown Taylor (husband Brad), and Ted Kent Brown. She worked as a bookkeeper then owned her own gift shop.  Gardening was a passion for her. She joined the Amarillo Garden Club becoming the 1 ^st, President. She studied and became a Master Flower Show Judge. Named Garden Club Woman of the Year in 1989. She was elected President of Texas Garden Clubs and served from 1989-1991. She remained in Amarillo until August 2007 when she moved to The Woodlands, Texas to be near family. She remained active in Garden Club and the community. After moving she was confirmed into the Lutheran Church. She was active in the Lutheran Church until becoming homebound.

Kris was very creative. She enjoyed painting, needlepoint, sewing, gardening, reading and travel. Always positive and never hesitant to try new things. Family and friends know that she would find a way to do anything she attempted. She designed and taught needlepoint and worked on completing designs until the end of her life.

She is also survived by her grandchildren:Blake Joel Taylor, Rachel Taylor McVay (husband Dalen), Katy, Sarah, Margaret, and Daniel. Great-Grandchildren: Micah, Colin, and Page.

Her advice to all is to love your children, grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and enjoy them any time you can.
