Phillip J Wedgeworth, 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday May 10, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents Riley L Wedgeworth Jr and Eva Jane and his brother Riley L Wedgeworth III.

Phillip was a 25 year veteran of the Houston Fire Department and a Retired District Chief assigned to Station 96. He presided as Vice Chair of the Houston Fire Fighters Relief and Retirement Fund for many years.

Phillip served on HLS&R's Safety Committee Buyers Association for numerous years and was a lifetime committee member. He also competed in the HLS&R BBQ Cookoff as part of the Peckers Dairie Social Club for nearly 25 years. He cooked for various charities as part of the Miller Time Cookers.

Phillip is survived by daughter Ashley and husband Brandon, grandson Cole. Sister Johanna and husband Buddy. Brothers; Robert, Howard, Mathew and wife Kandi. Numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday May 16, 2018 from 2-3PM at John Wesley United Methodist Church with service to follow. Phillip's request was to be cremated so there will be no burial service. A reception will be held as a celebration of life after the services.
