Phillip Campbell Summers, a man of family and friends, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023.  He was born April 19, 1946 in Tampa, Florida.  His childhood was spent in Thonotosassa, Florida where he received his early education.  He attended the University of South Florida as an undergraduate where he graduated in 1972.  He later received his juris doctorate from South Texas College of Law in Houston.

Phil Summers practiced law for 37 years.  He was an associate with the firm of Lorance and Thompson and became a partner of that firm.

He had many interests over the years including hunting in Texas, Mexico and Canada.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  His entertaining comments were legendary.

Phillip C. Summers and Susan Jane McClure were married in Tampa, Florida on July 18, 1970.  They recently celebrated their 53rd anniversary.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Charles T. Summers and Alice Phillips Summers.  He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marguerite Stanley and Martha Manfrin, as well as two brothers, Burke and Glenn Summers.

He is survived by his wife, Susan McClure Summers of Cypress.  He is also survived by his son, Christopher Andrew Summers and his brother, Kenneth Summers.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at 9:30 am on Saturday,  September 30, followed by a memorial service at 10 am at Klein Funeral Home,16131 Champion Forest Drive in Spring.
