Phillip Michael Lee Parker, 72, was born on November 22, 1946.  He passed away on October 21, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pam Parker, his daughter-in-law, Michelle Parker, his grandson, Travis Parker, and his granddaughter, Vivian Parker who were his pride and joy.

Phil was born in Houston, Texas to his parents, J.C. Parker and Rose Abdo (Parker).  He attended Reagan High School, was an altar boy at St. George Eastern Orthodox Church, and also became an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.  He continued his education after receiving an appointment to the Airforce Academy in Colorado Springs.  He completed his education at the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a minor in Management.  He served in the Airforce Reserve attaining the rank of Airman 1st Class.

Phil married his high school sweetheart,  Pam LaBonte, in 1967 and three days later began a 41 year career at Shell Oil.  He was very community minded and was involved in several service projects such as Jr. Achievement, and received awards for outstanding work.  Phil retired from Shell in 2008.

Phil enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing with his son, Michael, and brother, Jack, and friends.  He was an avid runner, and in 1994 was a Marathon Finisher in the Houston Tenneco Run.  His many interests included dove hunting, working with his brother, Jack, with their herd of Brangus cattle on their family land in Weldon, boating on Lake Conroe, going on family ski trips in Colorado, and traveling to many places.  A river cruise visiting Normandy in France was the highlight of a special trip.

During his son Michael's battle with cancer, Phil (Poppy) stepped in to help his grandchildren.  He helped Travis with scouting and camping, becoming an assistant Cub Master for the Pack.

Phil was a faithful member of Northwoods Presbyterian church and served on several church committees.

Phil was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael, his parents, and his brother, Jack.

Phil is survived by numerous family members including his mother-in-law, Betty LaBonte, of New Braunfels, Texas, brother-in-law, Pete LaBonte, (Vicky) of New Braunfels, Texas, sister-in-law, Ruth Lynn Parker, of Huntsville, Texas, sister-in-law, Naomi LaBonte, of Porter, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
