Obituary

Phillip Cole Hoot (Papa) passed away July 21st, 2017 at 1:30am in Magnolia, Texas with his daughter Cece by his side. He was 77.

Mr. Hoot was born on October 5 1939, in Santa Fe, New Mexico to his parents Adel Cefronia Baker and John Aden Hoot. He graduated  from Manteca Union High in 1957 as a decorated football player and wrestler. He went straight from High School to the Marines.

When he was discharged from the Marines, he started his own business with a friend and fellow Marine. He moved to Texas in 1965 and worked for his father. After a few years, he found a home at Gifford Hill Pipe Plant as a Superintendent for the pipe plant. This lasted for over a decade and parlayed into a new business for himself called Hoot General Construction, later to be named Phil Hoot Construction. His beloved employees were family to him.

Phillip worked and supported himself from the time he was 14. His never give up attitude was contagious to say the least. He was always compassionate and hard as a rock at the same time. Anyone that ever knew him can all agree it was his way or the highway, but we all loved him regardless.

Mr. Hoot is survived by his children; Rick, Cynthia, Hope, Cece, Cole and his ex-wife Alvona, along with numerous family, grandchildren, friends, and his beloved dogs.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and his sister Joann.

Phillip Cole Hoot will have a memorial service at Klein funeral home in Magnolia on Thursday  July 27th at 1:00pm. He will be buried at Park View Cemetery in Manteca, California the following week.
