She grew up on a farm in Indiana surrounded by godly, loving family, friends and many animals.  She was a good student, an athlete and played several instruments.
Polly moved to Virginia and worked in D.C. as a bookkeeper for IUE until she retired.  She met Louis Walters and his two children Kathy and Bobby.  Polly and LC married and had two daughters, Sherry Ann (Dermer) and Tracy Lynn (Allen).

Later in life she met and married Allan Torpy. They had a beautiful life together traveling and caring for veterans through various organizations.  The two of them started the Marine Corps League in New Port Richie, FL.

Al preceded her in death in October of 2008. She continued to travel with friends and volunteer in the community. In 2018, she moved to Texas where she was happiest spending time with her grandchildren, Zachary, Travis and Rachel. She was independent, funny and never met a stranger.  She was empathetic, generous, loving and wise.

Polly will be missed.
