Obituary

Pauline Marie (Caplinger) Sheffer was born Jan 20, 1926 in Manchester, Pa to the late Joseph W. and Ethel Caplinger. She had a younger brother Joseph W who is deceased.  Pauline attended school in the Manchester district where she was involved in athletics and excelled in cultural activities. She moved to York, Pa her senior year and graduated from York high school which is where she met her high school sweetheart who would become her husband. One of Pauline's interests was flying, she flew small aircrafts.  After WWII she and Wayne married and started a family, consisting of four sons, Gregory of San Diego, Galen of Spring TX, Tim of Carlton, OR and Bradley of N. Carolina.  She became involved in community work through the women's club of West York, adopted a troop of cub scouts. Later The family moved to Emmaus, PA. and Pauline was appointed executive secretary for Bicentennial celebration in the Lehigh Valley . For her hard work and dedication she received top national awards.  After retiring she owned and operated a B&B in Emmaus for 10 years with her husband Wayne. The B&B was featured in a Bed and Breakfast magazine. Sub sequentially moving to Houston TX she acted as hostess for Continental Airlines Presidents Club. Pauline enjoyed traveling and with her husband traveled all over the world and to exotic places. She loved the arts her favorite being Van Gogh. She loved to entertain and collect beads.  Pauline is survived by husband Wayne, four sons, three grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 2 great grandsons and 5 great granddaughters.  She will truly be missed.
