Paul Charles Wert, Jr. was born on August 12, 1955, in Fort Dix, New Jersey and passed away on April 26, 2022, in Houston, Texas. Paul is survived by his son, Christopher Paul Wert, his former spouse, Linda Elaine Wert and siblings, Robert (Linda) Wert, Joanne (Don) Miller, David (Teresa) Wert, Janet (Anthony) Roma and Jake (Ismael) Navarro. He is predeceased by his parents, Paul Charles Wert and Young Hi Wert Sprinkle, sister Lillian (Carl) Hendrix and niece, Carla Hendrix-Hissom. Surviving nieces and nephews: Lillian Peacock, Cathleen Dyke, Curtis Hendrix, Laurence Hendrix, Tricia Symons, Lindsey Nye, Jared Miller, Patrick Wert, Jordan Wert, Michael Fields, Robert Fields, Makena Leazer, Haley Glennon, Isabella Navarro, Alyssa Navarro, and Savanna Navarro. Paul will be missed by his many friends, neighbors, business colleagues and extended family members.

Paul spent his early years in New Jersey, Seoul, South Korea and in the San Francisco/Bay Area of California and the last 29 years in Houston. His professional career was spent in the beverage sales industry beginning with the Miller Beer Company in California and included Mistic Beverage, Castle Springs Bottling, North American Beverage, Le-Nature's Inc, and was currently associated with Premium Waters, Inc.

Paul was a sports enthusiast! He could talk about all types of sports and was knowledgeable about current and former players and events. Paul was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants, 49ers and Golden State Warriors. After many years in Houston, he developed a niche in his heart for the Astros, Texans, and Rockets (except when they played HIS teams!). He also enjoyed playing golf—though he always said he was a "goofer", not a true golfer! Paul and his brother Bob coached basketball and softball together for his niece's teams and he later served as a coach and Boy Scout volunteer for his son.

Family was always the most important thing to Paul. He loved cooking, getting together, traveling, planning adventures for his immediate and extended family. His greatest joys were birthday parties, family barbeques, celebrating Christmas and other holidays, attending school events and traveling. His laughter, hospitality, phone calls and big heartedness will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Klein Funeral Home-Cypress location. A reception will be held following the service at a family residence in the immediate vicinity.
