Paul Douglas Steinkamp went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2022 in Tomball, Texas at the age of 59.
He was born in Springfield, Oregon on September 6, 1963 to Vincent and Darlene Steinkamp as the sixth of ten children. Paul graduated from Oregon State University, then worked as a software engineer for Apple for over 25 years before retiring at the young age of 55.
After moving to Texas, Paul met the love of his life, Anne, through a blind date set up between her mother, Joan and a church friend, Rita. It was nearly love at first sight as the two became engaged only a month later. Then one year later on June 24, 1989, Paul and Anne were wed. Together, they raised two children and enjoyed over 30 years of marriage before his passing.
In his spare time, Paul could be found in his garage, creating woodworking masterpieces, or in his office, tinkering away at his computer. He was a devoted Catholic who lived life to the fullest: laughing, giving one of his "famous" lectures, or helping those in need. Many people can attest to his generous nature throughout the years as he sought to give back when able.
Paul was known to congratulate newlyweds by saying, "Welcome to the good life." While Paul will be greatly missed, his family is taking comfort knowing he's been welcomed to "the best life". Paul is survived by his wife Anne, and their children: Rachel Hirst and husband, Robert; Randall Steinkamp. He is also survived by his parents, Vincent and Darlene Steinkamp; his nine siblings: Jim Steinkamp and wife, Chris; Tom Steinkamp and wife, Debbie; Cindy Steinkamp; Linda Giles and husband, Greg; Mark Steinkamp, and wife Bonnie; Steve Steinkamp and wife, Cara; Daniel Steinkamp and wife, Heidi; Dave Steinkamp and wife, Lisa; Julie Kenyon, and husband, Gordon; as well as 28 nieces and nephews, and 25 grandnieces and grandnephews, with one on the way.
Visitation will be held by the family from 5-8pm Thursday, October, 13th at Klein Funeral Home — Champions. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 14th at 11am at Prince of Peace Catholic Community in Houston, Texas with burial following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Paul may be directed to Prince of Peace Catholic Community
